Universal Inputs

All universal inputs can be configured as analog or voltage-free digital inputs.

Analog inputs are optimized for resistive type temperature sensors (e.g. PT1000) and 0-10 VDC devices. 13 bit A/D converters assure high-resolution measurements. For 4-20 mA input signals, external 500 Ohm resistors are required.

All inputs are protected against short circuits to the ground and against direct connection up to 50 VAC.

Optional Relay Board Extension

Two relay modules (RK-4) can be connected by a ribbon cable to provide a total of 8 additional relay outputs at 10A. Further RK4 relay modules can be driven by flex-outputs to convert analog outputs to relay outputs.

Ports

The P-ION can communicate over TCP/IP and/or RS485 busses.

Flex Points

All flex I/O points can be configured as analog output, digital input or pulse input.

Analog outputs are used to control 0(2)-10V valve and damper actuators, humidifiers, frequency drives, etc. Convertor relay boards can be used to drive on/offloads.

All outputs are protected against short circuits to the ground and against direct connection up to 50 VAC.

Sedona Framework™

Sedona Framework™

Developed by Tridium, the Sedona Framework ™ is the industry’s first, open-source development framework that provides a complete software platform for developing, deploying, integrating, and managing pervasive device applications. It brings the power of programmable control and the Internet down to edge devices. The Sedona Framework distributes decision making control and manageability to any device and brings intelligence and connectivity to the network edge and back.

R-ION Programmable Touch-Screen Sedona Controller

R-ION series products are programmable room controllers ideal for managing a wide range of individual building products such as fan-coil units and VAV boxes.

Extremely flexible customization options are available thanks to configurable color touchscreen, full programmability, and custom logo placement options.

In addition to basic fan-speed and temperature settings, lighting controls can easily be integrated, as well as custom application-specific functions (e.g. Do Not Disturb /Makeup Room buttons for hotel rooms)

Option

R-ION controllers support various industry-standard protocols simultaneously. The main supervisory system communication (Port 1) is serial RS485 or wireless IP depending on the basic version:

  • WIFI versions support Sox protocol and BACnet IP.

  • Serial versions support BACnet MSTP (as a slave) and Modbus RTU in either master or slave configuration.

Optionally, one or more of the following auxiliary communication ports may be available:

  • Second RS485 port ( Modbus & DMX drivers available)

  • Belimo MP-Bus port

  • DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) port

The two-piece solution greatly simplifies installation on the wall-unit side, as the IO module can be located close to the terminal unit being controlled, with only comms wiring into the wall unit.

  • 3.5” resistive color touch-screen

  • Freely programmable

  • Fully customizable graphics

  • Powered by Sedona Framework

  • WIFI option

  • Belimo MP-Bus option

  • Dali (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) option

  • DMX driver available

  • Low profile, only 10.5 mm thick

  • Optional Input/output modules optimized for terminal units (e.g. Fan-coil, VAV…)

RK4 Relay Module

RK4 is intended for use with various Ontrol controllers, or other BMS systems, to enable on/off switching of loads. It provides 4 independently switchable relays. For each relay, both normally-open and normally-closed contacts are available for wiring. LEDs indicate status of the relays and supply voltage.

RK4 has two modes of operation.

Analog Control

A 0-10 V input is provided for controlling each relay independently. In this mode, the RK4 is a general-purpose analog-to-digital converter that can be used with any BMS controller. See specifications for switching voltages.

Ribbon-Cable Connection

When connected to a compatible Ontrol controller via the ribbon cable connection, the relays are directly controlled by the attached controller. In this case, analog input terminals are not used.

Ribbon cable connectors are on the bottom of the module, allowing the cable to lie flat in the DIN rail. Two connectors are provided to allow daisy-chain connection of multiple RK4 modules:

Modbus Controllers

M/TIO modules are general purpose input/output modules with industry-standard, open-protocol Modbus RTU communications.

Both modules have the same I/O configuration, the only difference is the communications protocol.

These modules also host a battery backed-up real-time-clock. Therefore, time schedules can be implemented directly on the device, fully configurable locally from the connected R-ION or remotely from a supervisory system.
